Organizational Health Check
We start with a Reflective process with our partners. We partner with leaderships and teams in organizations through a reflexive process and undertake a health check to determine how well you are delivering outcomes and services that correspond to your mandate and mission. We facilitate review of governance and management practices, processes, systems, structures, data, and people. We examine how you organize and utilise key resources (financial, human, material, time and information), in meeting the needs of your target beneficiaries in a way that provides value for money and in ensuring that you are accountable to your communities, governments and stakeholders.
Direction And Strategy Formulation
The Design process initiates here. This is an iterative process intended to foster a sense of direction and purpose for your organization informed by your current reality as gained from the reflection process. We aim to understand your aspirations and goals and together co-create your goals, define what success looks like to you and the strategies to get there. We apply suitable strategic planning methodologies and help you with ways, techniques, and approaches to “operationalize” your plan throughout the organization. We support you to translate the “big picture” into measurable components and individual objectives
Capacity Building And Capability Development
Having determined your desired future against your current status, we support you to determine what you need, and determine pathways for how to get it. We make recommendations for strengthening or letting go of aspects that hinder your progress within your infrastructure, structures, process, procedures, activities and people.
We support Action through investments in building institutional capacities and capabilities through our teams of professional partners to get you there.
We consider capacity building our training is aimed at enhancing functions of infrastructure, systems, and processes necessary to support the organization’s goals.
We consider capability development to be about people’s and team’s abilities and potential for execution. Our coaching here is intended to improve performance of staff and teams to operate optimally and in congruence with the organizations directions in their judgement, decisions and actions. It is usually long-term and involves culture and behavioural changes/adjustments, personal and shared goals and values, skills and aptitude.

Resourcing And Management Of Resources
We understand that for institutions to grow, they require financial resources and must manage these and other key resources. For grant based organizations, we support development of custom fund-raising plans and strategy documents for grant-based organizations, informed by our RAV (Results, Accountability, Value) approach.
For private sector companies we facilitate identification of viable revenue generation streams and develop action plans to drive income. Our commitment is to support resource mobilization/generation and utilization that responds to real-world challenges and promotes sustainability.
Strengthening Accountability To Self And Community
Strengthening accountability is a key part of performance management to promote effectiveness, efficiency and improve delivery. Accountability enhances transparency and builds trust with stakeholders. StepsAhead understands and strengthens actions towards internal/self accountability through performance management, internal controls, assignment of responsibility, monitoring and feedback mechanisms and continuous corrective action. We support external accountability (to community) through public reporting, compliance and return on investment and value for money reporting.
